CASE STUDY
CQC: Helping the regulator to reach the people
cqcquote

Overview
The Care Quality Commission, otherwise known as the CQC, is the independent regulator of health and adult social care in England. It ensures that health and social care services provide people with safe, effective, compassionate, high-quality care, and it encourages care services to improve. To do this the regulator needs to gather the views and experiences of as many of our local communities as possible.

Approach
To meet these goals, we developed and promoted marketing materials across England to generate human interest case studies to support the campaign for Long-Term Conditions. We produced a range of video clips for the CQC showing patient and carer experiences to be used in the campaign and worked with the contributors to encourage their involvement in future and ongoing CQC activities.

We contributed to the development of promotional styles and tools which covered a diverse population across England. We even had buy-in from Scottish patients – but sadly the CQC doesn’t regulate that part of the UK. Our reach is wide.

Results
We successfully supported the CQC’s national campaign by recruiting people across England, getting them involved and asking them to share visual and audio experiences of health and social care services. This method of engagement is powerful and adds value and real depth to a campaign. Because of how we work, we achieved more for our client than was requested: more case studies and more patient stories, which meant better value for money for the CQC.
