Your Easter holidays fish fun designs will decorate Boston

Lincolnshire people are invited to design a fish for the ‘By Sea’ buoy which will sit by St Botolph’s Bridge in Boston – a perfect Easter holiday activity.

Organised by community arts group Transported and Boston Buoys Sculpture Trail, the activity is hoped to reach out to those who have felt lonely over the last year as a result of the pandemic.

By making something permanent for the town, it’s hoped this will give young people an opportunity to feel part of a bigger community and to have a connection with the town.

Some design ideas

So how does it work?

Download and print off the A4 fish template and get creative designing patterns and colours for the fish.

Return these (along with the optional short survey) to bostonbuoys@gmail.com and when the project is ready you’ll be invited to the unveiling.

Where will they go?

Vintage marine buoys are being transformed by artists – including you!

The buoys that will be transformed

Once the designs are in, these will be converted into special transfers called decays and applied to 3D clay fish. Once baked, these colourful fish will create a mosaic to decorate the buoy.

We’re looking forward to seeing the finished results!
